Social Sciences and Entrepreneurship

Social sciences research investigates the interactions between human behaviours along with the check influence of society on the culture. Entrepreneurship is a kind of social science that studies the ways that people can develop and sustain businesses that satisfy the needs of society. It is an extremely powerful force that can transform industries, communities, and the world at large.

A business that makes a positive impact on the community gives entrepreneurs a sense of satisfaction and purpose in their work. They can also leave a legacy for future generations of entrepreneurs. If it’s changing how we shop, providing more access to healthcare and education or addressing inequality and poverty in the world entrepreneurs can make an incredible impact with their ventures.

Entrepreneurs typically engage in social entrepreneurship (SEE) by finding a need and then developing innovative solutions to meet that demand. This could involve leveraging their existing business knowledge and relationships to expand into new markets, or working with partners to develop more sustainable products. It may also involve philanthropy as they attempt to support a cause that is meaningful to them.

Academics participating in SEE can build upon their research results by releasing them in their institutions’ publications which is an important instrument to encourage the spread of knowledge. This can encourage collaborations between academia and industry and help in the development of entrepreneurial culture. SSRN’s Entrepreneurship Collection contains scholarly articles that examine the underlying theories and concepts of Entrepreneurship and their relationship to law and management, economics and public policy.
